Healthy but too young to endure a helicopter round-up, this foal struggled through the chase.

Unable to keep up, he was left hog-tied in the desert heat for wranglers to pick up later.

Only days-old, once in the holding pens he could not be paired up with his mother.

Severely dehydrated after two weeks as an orphan in the holding pens

After more than two weeks in FWS’ holding pens, he was handed over to an adopting agent who had to take him straight to the vet for emergency care due to severe dehydration.
